UTelco was commissioned to conduct a corporate-wide IT Strategic Planning Study which entailed the following four major steps:

• Information Technology Strategic Alignment
• Enterprise Modelling
• Enterprise Architectural Design
• Project Evaluation & Selection

As a result of the successful completion of this Study, UTelco was called upon to use the results of this study as a basis for deriving an implementation plan for fully automating United Transport Services’ major warehousing facilities using bar-coding software. This further entailed the actual migration of the warehousing and distribution systems on the current platform based on pre-relational technology to an open systems platform based on object-relational technology.
